Mitsubishin regional jet-projekti on entistä lähempänä toteutumistaan, koska Toyota on julkistanut päätöksen investoida Mitsubishin lentokoneprojektiin 10 miljardia jeniä, eli 96 miljoonaa dollaria.

Japanilaisen Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporationin MRJ-matkustajakoneen ensilento siirtyi. Yhtiö kertoi 22. elokuuta, että kone nousee ilmaan vasta vuoden 2015 toisella neljänneksellä. Tähän asti ensilentoa on odotettu 2013 loppupuolelle. Kyseessä on jo toinen viivästys.

The right wing for Mitsubishi Aircraft's first flight test MRJ regional jet has been delivered to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' (MHI) Komaki South Plant for final assembly.

 

The 16m long and 4m wide wing was loaded onto a customised trailer on 8 April and transferred from MHI's Tobishima plant to its Komaki plant some 35km away. The aircraft's left wing will be delivered to the Komaki factory by mid April, says a Mitsubishi spokesman.

 

Final assembly of the wings onto the aircraft's fuselage is expected to happen soon.

Mitsubishin regional jet-projektissa on päästy nyt siihen virstanpylvääseen asti, että virallisen rollout-tilaisuuden päivämäärä, 18. lokakuuta, on lyöty lukkoon.

 

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. has informed media that it will hold a “rollout ceremony” for the first completed Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) on Oct. 18.

 

The ceremony will take place at manufacturing facilities in Nagoya, Japan.

Mitsubishi Regional Jetin ensilento siirtyy taas jonkin verran eteenpäin, nyt sen odotetaan tapahtuvan syys-lokakuussa.

Mitsubishi on julkaissut uusia kuvia kaikista viidestä koelentoyksilöstä, jotka ovat erilaisissa asennusvaiheissa. Valmiimmat ovat luonnollisesti FTA-1 (Flight Test Aircraft 1) ja FTA-2, joissa moottoritkin ovat paikoillaan.

 

Mitsubishi Aircraft has released a series of photos of its fleet of five flight test aircraft for the MRJ regional jet programme.

 

The pictures show FTA-1, also known as MSN 10001, and FTA-2, having both completed final assembly and with its Pratt & Whitney PW1200G engines attached.

At the convention, it also announced that it has expanded planned flight test and engineering options in the USA with four more sites. Besides a flight test centre in Moses Lake, Washington, an engineering centre will also be opened in Seattle. Mitsubishi Regional Jetin rakenteita joudutaan vahvistamaan staattisten rasituskokeiden tulosten perusteella, mikä taas aiheuttaa ensimmäiseen asiakastoimitukseen jälleen yhden vuoden verran lisää viivästystä. Lisäksi ohjelmistoa päivitetään.

 

The Japanese manufacturer tells Flightglobal that it has scheduled two months to strengthen the aircraft’s airframe, as well as upgrade the software for its avionics, flight control system and engine control unit. Data gleaned from static strength tests prompted the modifications.

 

Part of the work includes strengthening the jet’s wings. When “ultimate weight loads exceeding normal loads” were exerted on some components during static strength tests, it became clear which components lacked sufficient strength, says Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi Aircraft (MITAC) has modified the first MRJ90 regional airliner since its initial three flights last November and has resumed flight tests, the company announced Wednesday. The company performed taxiing tests with the updated aircraft—Japan’s first domestically developed passenger airliner since the NAMC YS-11 regional turboprop more than 50 years ago— early this month following functional tests performed in January.

 

Meanwhile, MITAC has postponed the MRJ90’s entry into service for a further year—to the second quarter of 2018—even as launch customer All Nippon Airways (ANA) has conducted its first acceptance inspection of the initial delivery aircraft.

Floridalainen leasingyhtiö Aerolease Aviation on allekirjoittanut aiesopimuksen 10 MRJ:n tilauksesta. Lisäksi yhtiöllä on optiot 10 koneesta. Toimitukset alkavat v. 2018.

 

Aerolease Aviation, a Florida-based lessor with a portfolio of 40 used Boeing 757s, signed a letter of intent (LOI) for 10 Mitsubishi Regional Jets (MRJ) plus 10 options.

 

Aerolease becomes the first lessor to commit to the MRJ. “We firmly believe that the asset value of the MRJ has now been recognized in the aircraft finance market,” Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. president Hiromichi Morimoto said Tuesday at the Singapore Airshow.

 

The 10 MRJ90s are slated to start delivering to Aerolease in 2018.

Mitsubishi suunnittelee lentävänsä MRJ:n testeihin Moses Lakeen USA:han elokuun lopulla. Eilen 18.8. MRJ:n ykkösproto JA21MJ suoritti siirtolentoa edeltävien testien yhteydessä ensimmäisen vierailunsa New Chitosen kentälle Hokkaidolla. Varsinainen siirtolento on suunniteltu kulkevaksi New Chitosen, Kamtsatkan ja Alaskan kautta.
