Systematic causes contributing to the crash were

- the inadequate level of airworthiness and maintenance of Boeing 737s in the airline.

- defiancies in the technical operation of the airplane led to a long flight without autothrottles and unsynchronised throttle positions leading to seriously increased workload by the crew, also during the approach.

- Medical examination revealed the presence of ethyl alcohol (about 0.53 to 1.12 permille) in the body of the captain.

- Work schedule and (lack of) rest preceding the crash have contributed to the accumulation of fatigue and did not confirm with current regulations.

Aeroflot on katkaissut kaiken yhteistyön Aeroflot Nordin kanssa. Nord ei saa jatkossa käyttää Aeroflotin nimeä eikä operoida lentoja Aeroflotin koodilla. Aeroflot omistaa Nordista 51%, mutta on epäselvää aikooko se pitää omistuksensa jatkossa

Vierähti tuossa Aeroflot Nordin nimenmuutoksessa sitten vähäsen aikaa, mutta tämän kuun alusta lukien yhtiön nimi on muutettu, vaikka nettisivujen osoite ei vielä ole. No, uusi yhtiön nimi on nyt kuitenkin Nordavia - Regional Airlines.

"The case has been sent for further investigation with specific instructions to review the actions of the officials who were responsible for ensuring the flight safety of the aircraft and to determine the legal measures against them," said Vladimir Markin, official spokesman for the Investigative Committee of the Prosecutor General's Office.

 

"In addition, the investigators have been instructed to give a legal assessment of the actions of all officials who were involved in pre-flight preparation of the plane and checkups of the crew before the flight," Markin added.
