The French airline has had a turbulent relationship with its unions for many years. Air Francen väliaikainen johto on luvannut välittömiä parannuksia työntekijöiden oloihin mm. parempien lepotilojen muodossa, mutta sitä, mitä työntekijät eniten haluavat, eli rahaa, ei ole luvassa killinkiäkään. Siis ei yhtään. Neuvottelujakaan ei ole luvassa.

Ranskalaisten maineen tuntien veikkaan, että varsinkin lentäjiltä menee herne nenään.

Hiljaisen kesäkauden jälkeen taitaa olla aika uusille lakoille Air Francessa. Uutta johtajaa ei ole löytynyt, vaikka eronneen johtajan Janaillacin palkka on luvattu kolminkertaistaa - mistä taas yhtiön työntekijät eivät erityisemmin pidä. Lentäjien suurin ammattiliitto uhkaakin mennä syyskuussa 15 päivää kestävään lakkoon, jolleivat neuvottelut ala pian uudelleen ja lisää palkkaa tule tänä vuonna 5,1 %.

KLM and the pilots union VNV reached tentative agreement over a new pay-and-conditions contract for the pilots in May. However the 2,200 pilots employed by KLM are unhappy about the terms. Netherlands-based pilots union VNV said it has reached a deal in principle on a new collective labor agreement with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and would not plan any more strikes while awaiting approval from its members’ council. 

The news removes one short-term strike threat from the Air France-KLM group, which is still facing the prospect of walkouts by Air France employees over an ongoing pay dispute likely to be reignited by the arrival this month of new CEO Benjamin Smith.
