A stand-off between airplane manufacturers and airlines over the coronavirus crisis is intensifying after Airbus <AIR.PA> signalled it would sue airlines that refuse to honour contracts.

The warning by Chief Executive Guillaume Faury in a news interview came as Airbus prepared to unveil what industry sources expect to be another weak month of delivery data in May.

Planemakers and lessors have received multiple requests from airlines to delay deliveries due to the slump in air travel.

Faury told Politico that some airlines, which he did not identify, had refused to take calls at the height of the crisis, but that he hoped for a compromise.

"It will remain, I hope, the exception because we always try to find a different route than going to court," Faury said.

"But if and when airlines - and it's happening - have no other choice than fully defaulting and not proposing something better than nothing, or are not willing to do it, then (lawsuits) will happen."

Halpalentoyhtiö Wizz Air uskoo tulevaisuuteen ja haluaa aikaistaa konetoimituksiaan neuvoteltuaan ehdoista Airbusin kanssa.  Airbus toimittaa Wizz Airille 30 A321neoa vuoden 2021 aikana, mikä on 5 enemmän kuin oli suunniteltu. Yhtiö saa todennäköisesti käyttöönsä koneyksilöitä, joiden toimitukset muut yhtiöt ovat siirtäneet eteenpäin, ja mahdollisesti hyvällä alennuksella. Wizz Air Holdings Plc will speed up the rate of new-plane deliveries from Airbus SE, taking advantage of deferrals from other customers to feed its own expansion.

The Hungarian low-cost airline will receive about 30 A321neo jets in 2021, five more than it previously expected, Chief Executive Officer Jozsef Varadi said in an interview Wednesday. Airbus toimitti heinäkuussa yhteensä 49 konetta asiakkaille. 3 kuukauden kuivan kauden jälkeen Airbus sai myös 4 uutta tilausta, kaikki  A320-sarjalaisille. Airbus was boosted by a modest uptick in aircraft deliveries in July, with 49 narrowbodies being handed over to airline customers. In a statement on Thursday, the company also reported its first new orders in more than three months, with four sales for a pair of A320S and A321s.

Allowing for order cancellations, the European airframer's total orders for 2020 now stands at 302 aircraft. Mm. kaupan ja teknologian monialayhtiö Amazon ostaa 11 767-300-konetta WestJetiltä ja Deltalta ja konvertoi koneet rahtikoneiksi. Amazon saa koneet todennäköisesti edullisesti lentoyhtiöiden pienentäessä konelaivastojaan.

Amazon confirmed the plan Wednesday and said the acquisition will expand its air cargo capacity. The company said it is pushing to enhance delivery times to keep up with online demand from stuck-at-home shoppers.

Air China ostaa 18 A320neoa leasingyhtiö GECASin tytäryhtiöltä. Kaupan tekee edulliseksi matalat rahoituskulut ja edullinen valuuttakurssi.

Leasingyhtiöt GECAS ja AerCap, maailman kaksi suurinta lentokoneleasingyhtiötä, ovat äskettäin sopineet yhdistyvänsä siten, että AerCap maksaa GECASista vähän päälle 30 miljardia dollaria.

Air China will buy 18 Airbus A320neo jets from AFS Investments Inc, a subsidiary of aircraft lessor GECAS, the airline said on Thursday, in a boost to Airbus as it competes with Boeing for Chinese market share.

Air China said the order was worth $2.24 billion, based on list prices and deliveries of the narrow-body aircraft were expected to be completed by 2022.

The airline said it believed the new jets would make it more competitive in a domestic market recovering fast from the coronavirus pandemic and that low financing costs and a favourable exchange rate had helped with the deal.

Airbus has slightly increased the tempo of deliveries in March 2021 with 72 aircraft being delivered to 34 customers in the month.

The month accounts for almost 60% of the deliveries so far in 2021.

Deliveries in March include 4 Airbus A220, 50 A320 family aircraft (57 of which were Neo’s), 8 Airbus A350 aircraft and on the very last day of the month, an Airbus A330-900neo to Corsair.

The European airframer also obtained 28 orders in March.
