Berliinissä maapalvelutyöntekijöiden lakko

Verdi-ammattiliittoon kuuluvat maapalvelutyöntekijät Berliinin lentokentillä ovat lakossa tänään 10.3. aina huomisaamuun klo 5 asti. Odotettavissa on lentojen peruutuksia ja viivästymisiä. Työntekijät vaativat euron verran lisää tuntipalkkoihin.

 

Most flights at Berlin’s Tegel and Schönefeld airports will be cancelled on Friday as ground handling staff strike in support of a pay claim.

 

Ground staff will walk off the job from 04:00 on Friday until 05:00 on Saturday, the Verdi union said after a ballot of members voted 98.6 percent for industrial action.

 

Lufthansa said it has cancelled all flights between Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin on Friday. Eurowings said its flights will be disrupted and passengers should check online or contact the airline about cancellations.

 

Air Berlin said the strike will have a considerable impact on air traffic to and from Berlin and passengers should expect delays, flight cancellations and significant disruption to baggage handling.

Tegelissä ja Schönefeldissä on jälleen meneillään päivän kestävä maapalvelutyöntekijöiden lakko, joka alkoi tänään aamulla ja päättyy huomenna klo 05.00. ja aiheuttaa suuria ongelmia Berliinin lentoliikenteelle. Viivästyksiä tai peruutuksia voi esiintyä vielä lakon päätyttyä.

 

Berlin’s Tegel and Schonefeld airports are facing another day of serious disruption as a result of industrial action by ground staff.

 

The strike is set to last from 04:00 on 13 March until 05:00 the following day.

 

“After the end of the strike action, restrictions in air traffic may continue,” says Berlin Airports, the operator of Tegel and Schonefeld.

German trade union Verdi has called for around 2,000 ground staff at Berlin’s Tegel and Schönefeld airports to strike from Monday, March 13, to Wednesday, March 15, in a continuation of the strike called last week for Friday, March 10. 

 

The two-day strike has had a considerable impact on air traffic to and from Berlin. On Monday, Tegel canceled 448 flights and Schönefeld canceled 650 flights. On Friday, both airports canceled a total of 650 flights.

 

Verdi wants a €1 ($1.07) increase in hourly wages.
