Hi!

Sorry to change direction of the topic, but I wanted to show a cool decal that I just added to the VC... Hope that noone will complain on lack of detail!  ;D

A little small in this first version but it looks great, doesn´t it?

Paneeli näyttää tällä hetkellä tältä:

Sen pikku paneelin korvasin tällä. Mittarit on paljon suurempia ja uloskin vielä näkee hyvin.

Näyttää hyvältä!

Onko tossa muuten joku syy miksi noi mittarit on tollai "väärin päin" tossa "sixpackissa"?

Kiitos vaan.

Jaa-a, en tiedä kyllä yhtään.

Hi!

First shot of the VC with textures! From FSX, hence all the black details (non-textured objects are drawn in black). Don´t mind the hilarious climbrate!

Looks nice!

But can you please make the instrument arrangement a bit more "standard"? Even if in that particular modelled aircraft it is like that, it is a bit strange..?

The usual arrangement of instruments is like on the default Cessna as well:

( airspeed ) ( attitude ) ( altimeter )

( turn coord) ( directional gyro) ( vspeed )

If you are missing the directional gyro and are having just a compass, or perhas missing both gyros and just have airspeed, altimeter, vspeed and the slip ball, I'd perhaps put it like this:

( airspeed ) ( compass ) ( altimeter )

( slip ball ) ( -----  ) ( vspeed )

So that they are in the correct places even if some stuff is missing..?

Some examples: Full "sixpack": http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0507080/L/

Just airspeed, alt and variometer: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0998859/L/

Demo aircraft for sales, "too much weight for ultralight regulations anyway": http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1031780/L/  - although I think the "Team Eurostar" is the VLA version?

Just thoughts, discussion about this is of course welcome :)

Hi!

As I wrote in the FSDeveloper forum - there seem to be as many variations in the cockpit layout as there are aircafts...  :) ...so naturally I went about modelling the VC as Oskari have made the panel. But, without giving it too much thought, I don´t think it will be too difficult to re-arrange the VC layout and make a separate model - one "standard" with the Basic-T, and one "507". There will be a different version with wheelcovers anyway, drop the standard VC into that one and many people will be pleased?  :)

Yep. You are absolutely correct. As many layouts as there are aircraft.. :)

Also, as those gauges are standard size, it shouldnt be THAT impossible to rearrange them even in the VC, right? I don't know too much about VC modelling, but I assume those are just "holes" in the model that get filled with gauges - as long as they are the same size, stuff should work, right?

Also for training purposes it'd be good to provide a way / replacement panel config to use the RealityXP gauges as those are remarkably smooth.

Hi!

As a sidenote - I spent way too much time trying to figure out a way to make holes in the panel, an operation which seemed easy in theory but proved to be quite a challenge. But, as in so many cases, once I knew the answer, yes, it is quite simple. But I have learned something during the long road that this project has turned into - there is no such thing as just holes, or just animated buttons, or just anything...  ;D

This plane and the VC look really nice. Good work guys!

I have one small plea. Would it be possible to add some window reflections in the VC?

In this type of cockpit it easily otherwise looks like there are no windows at all.

Hi & thanks!

There is allready window reflection, although it is not very visible in the shots. Below is an old image in which the reflections are a little too apparent, they have been reduced since then. Flying the Eurostar in its current state of development reveals a subtle, but quite realistic reflection which, just in real life, makes the canopy almost invisible except when turning makes the reflection change (sounded a bit like a commercial...).  :)

If I were you, I would skip the idea of having "dynamic reflection". In other words, I wouldn't use that FS's own reflection effect. Even when reduced to minimum, it is quite distracting... Instead I would just make a screenshot of interior (seats, panel etc.) and make it as almost fully transparent bitmap and then map that on the canopy part...

Ja tähän väliin sitten muutama hassu sana suomeakin. :P

Hi!

Sorry about this, is there anything in the above that I should not miss? I was trying to translate using internet services, but all I got was stuff like "And here between ago some mad word suomeakin" (Oskari: Ja tähän väliin sitten muutama hassu sana suomeakin).  :P And I don´t really know how to interpret that...

There Pekko were just asking that when this project is completed... Then Oskari told him, that the flying model is ok, but hi is still working on it, 2D panel is also ok, but just some little adjustements needed and when there is good enough weather, Oskari can record sounds for this. I hope, that you can understand even something, sorry about typing mistakes!

Hi!

Thanks, just wanted to catch up!  :)

And yes, the panel is super, really! Hopefully I´ll get the VC to be just as grand!

Hi!

More "ooh" & "aah" please.  ;D

By the way, I got the trim lever to work yesterday. Again, something that really should have been simple turned out to take a whole evening to figure out.

Looking good!

By the way, summer is approaching, should we do a FSN fly-in into Visby in real life? :) It would be kinda mid-way between us :)

I could take Oskari along if he gets his arse into Helsinki :) We might get some other aircraft mobilized too, Visby is a very pretty place.. :)

Hi!

Well, Visby is quite a long way from where I live, but not too long. I just need to get my license to do that... solo coming up!  :)

Noniin, paneeli alkaa mielestäni näyttää pikkuhiljaa siltä miltä pitääkin.

Äänetkin alkaa pian olla kunnossa. :)
