Lentäjä uhkaa törmätä pienkoneella Sky Tower -pilvenpiirtäjään Aucklandissa, Uuden-Seelannin televisio kertoi.

 

Lentäjä oli varastanut koneen yöllä Aucklandin lentokentältä. Hänen uskotaan olevan yhteydessä poliisiin, joka ei vielä ole kommentoinut asiaa. (STT)

A light plane has crashed into the Waitemata harbour off St Heliers beach.

 

A local resident said she was watching the election coverage on TV when she heard "an unusual thud". Minutes later she heard a helicopter circling and then saw it shine its spotlight on to the water.

 

She saw the wing of a plane sticking out of the water about 20 metres from shore near the Kohimarama Yacht Club on Tamaki Drive. 

 

At about 9.30pm, TV One reported that a light plane had been stolen from Ardmore Airport in South Auckland and had been flown dangerously low over Auckland.

 

The TV station reported that the pilot was in touch with police and had threatened to crash the plane into the Sky Tower.

 

Rescuers are attempting to get to the plane's pilot.
