I want to say thank you for already helping me with information on OH-RIM. I was reading many old posts from a while back and noticed some people having problems with identification. I made a Spreadsheet and would like for anyone to feel free to fill in the blanks or post them here with a reply.

I mentioned in another post that I compiled a complete Fairchild 24 database. It can be viewed by the public but you must submit a request to leave comments in a cell blocks (Default).

The main Spreadsheet is locked to actual editing by the public.....BUT I made one for the Finish 24's open to the public for editing here:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Again,

Bryan Austin

Here is the first finnish Fairchild OH-RIM in old sea airport at Vaskiluoto island, Vaasa city. This pic has been taken on summer 1939. My own collection.

OK. Both The Civil Aircraft Registers of Great Britain 1919-1985 (tahs) and G-INFO (offiacial site of UK CAA) 5fdb9158f3f35_Screenshot_2020-12-17G-INFOsearchCivilAviationAuthority.png.87919fb1b587ebc3980f5da7b4bcea8a.pnginsists that s/n of EV794/G-AKJA is 304. When registered in Finland, keeper of the register (see copy of the original register book) knows only the serial of USAAF, so the real s/n is not actually known. S/n 302 is later added to the data, here in Finland and in my opinion erraneously.

I do find it highly unlikely that all of the military i.d. numbers and civilian construction numbers will all be in consecutive order. However, so far...even Broadhurst suggests that the sn# may not match the military numbers in sequence for c/n -210 thru c/n -224. I have found that some of the Finland aircraft c/n's may not be in sequence with military numbers up through about c/n 310. I am having issues with c/n 252.

Errors can be made in early documents or in later documents. I am constantly editing my errors, where I incorrectly copy down information. It hurts the brain!!

It would be so much better to see the official data plates.

I have noted the discrepancy, and applied the information as c/n 304 on my spreadsheet.

Thank you for sharing such information, it is all we have left!!

Interestingly enough, and a bit off topic.....my flight instructor back in 1987 was from either Finland or Sweden. I can't remember which but his name was Eric Turuner.

On another note, also attached is the Fairchild I once owned.

I think his name is Eric Turunen, not Turuner. Turunen is a finnish last name. First name Eric is more like swedish/english but used also in Finland.

Yes, the first entry was a sign-off to take my private pilot check ride. The second and third entry were to solo my J-3 to the airport where I would take the check ride, as well as the return solo trip if I failed the check ride. I passed! :-)
