A GERMAN Focke Wulf 190 is winched from the sea - more than 50 years after it crashed and sank during the height of the Second World War.

The fighter plane, nicknamed the Butcher Bird by its German pilots, ended up in the drink off Bergen in Norway on 15 December 1943.

The unnamed pilot was saved when he scrambled to safety seconds after making an emergency landing. The heavilyarmed Focke Wulf 190 was regarded as Germany's best fighter - and was more than a match for the Spitfires and Hurricanes piloted by Britain's air aces.

Luckily for them, the Germans were never able to recover this one so it spent the final years of the war on the sea bed. Well you know what they say. Zey sink...it's all over.

No niinpäs olikin. Ei haku löytänyt, kun Fockea etsin enkä FW:tä.

Modet, heittäkää tämä ketju roskikseen.
